7 February 2023 – Sydney, Australia

The final iteration of Renault Sport’s agenda-setting, segment-creating, hot-hatch has arrived in Australia – the ultra-exclusive, limited-edition Megane R.S. Ultime.

Renault Sport was founded in 1976 and, as such, the production of this R.S. Ultime is limited to 1,976 units worldwide, of which just 40 are coming to Australia.

“The Megane R.S. Ultime represents the culmination of a long and storied history of Renault hot hatches,” says Glen Sealey, Renault Australia General Manager.

“Indeed, Renault set the blueprint for what a hot hatch should be and has consistently delivered on that blueprint for almost 50 years: nimble, lightweight, highly-tuned engine and a chassis set-up designed for the most challenging of B-roads. This final edition Megane R.S. Ultime is the ultimate expression of the genre and a fitting way to bow out.”

Available in both 6sp manual and 6sp EDC automatic, the R.S. Ultime is distinguished by the following highlights:

  • Black 19” Fuji Lightweight alloy wheels
  • Hi-performance Bridgestone S007 tyres
  • Recaro® front bucket seats
  • Unique exterior decals
  • Four paint colours: Liquid Yellow, Orange Tonic, Diamond Black, Pearl White

Van-tastic – LDV to double-down on commerical vehicle offering

  • Deliver 9 is Australia’s #1 large van
  • LDV hits records sales in 2022 with 16,269 units
  • LDV cements position as a leading commercial vehicle brand

Sydney, Australia – 25 January 2023

LDV has established itself as a key player in the commercial vehicle space and looks set to continue its growth in 2023.

Having seen the LDV Deliver 9 hit the number one spot in the large van segment – up a massive 61.2% in 2022 to secure 2,966 sales – the G10 (3,159 units) and V80 (562) went on to secure second place in the 2.5-3.5-tonne van segment with a combined 16.1% segment share.

In a market that grew by just 3.0% in 2022, LDV more than doubled the market growth at 7.1% to secure a record 16,269 vehicles sold, despite major supply constraints across its range.

The recent launch of the eDeliver 9 for greener urban logistics, and the arrival of Australia’s first electric ute, the eT60, lay further foundations for continued LDV growth as the nation begins the transition to greener transport solutions.

AUSTRALIA’S FIRST ELECTRIC UTE IS HERE: THE LDV eT60

• First to market electric ute leads the competition
• 88.5kWh battery and 330km range
• Helping fleets meet their emissions targets

Sydney, Australia – 16 November 2022

LDV is proud to launch Australia’s first electric ute, the eT60. This seminal moment in Australia’s automotive history marks a turning point in the electrification of commercial vehicles – and proves that weekends don’t have to end just yet.

The LDV T60 is an undoubted success story, totaling 23,947 sales (YTD Oct22) since its launch in September 2017. The ute segment accounts for 21% of all vehicles sold in Australia, making this segment one of the biggest opportunities in the market to electrify.

As with the eDeliver 9, the LDV eT60 is aimed at large corporate entities, all three levels of Government and fleet businesses who’ve committed to emission reductions targets, and private early adopters.

“We’re delighted the LDV eT60 is Australia’s first electric ute, and now is the time to build on our first mover advantage,” says Dinesh Chinnappa, LDV General Manager.

All-new RAM 1500 eats more than just utes

RAM Trucks Australia’s all-new RAM 1500 has officially arrived, with the first ‘DT’ models coming off the production line at the Melbourne Manufacturing Facility and heading straight to RAM dealers across the country.

Following a detailed design, homologation and manufacture process, a test fleet of DTs embarked on a Covid-safe final validation trip around Australia. This epic, multi-terrain, route went from Melbourne to Broome to Townsville, and back down to Melbourne again via Alice Springs. One of the test vehicles undertook a maximum tow rating exercise for the duration of the 30,000km journey.

The final test and development figures are impressive: over 50,000 hours of pre-build development hours; over 80,000kms and 10,000+ hours of rolling road testing; over 50,000km and 7,000+ hours of real-world road driving; and a final 20,000km full vehicle durability test conducted an Anglesea Proving Ground in Victoria. A successful ADR 85/00 Side Impact Crash test was the final tick for the DT 1500 to be given the green light for full-volume production to commence.

“We’re delighted to officially welcome the next generation 1500,” said RAM Trucks Australia National Manager Jeff Barber.

“The all-new 1500 DT marks the culmination of a detailed planning, development, remanufacturing and testing programme with our local and global partners, including Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (US).

“The DT version now swells our 1500 range to five diverse models, from the price-leading Express Quad to Crew Cab, Warlock II, and now DT versions of Laramie, and Limited.

“With the all-new 2500 and 3500 also arriving later this year – and some other exciting developments – 2021 looks set to be a record year for RAM Trucks Australia.” Read more
